Rapid Rocket

One thumb. No brakes. +1 point a second until the field wins.

The game

A voxel asteroid field
that never stops coming

Rapid Rocket is a one-thumb endless runner in deep space. You hold a direction, the ship keeps turning, and the nebula keeps throwing hand-built voxel rock at you. Score climbs a point a second, star points buy new hulls, and one hit ends the run. That's the whole game — and that is the point. Pick it up, one run, put it down.

Steer, don't aim

The crosshair isn't a gun sight — it's your stick. Hold it off-centre and the whole rig keeps yawing, so a nudge is a course correction and a hold is a full turn. Learning that is the game.

Earn the fleet

Star points drop in the field. Bank enough and the hangar opens up: eight hulls on a turntable, a price ladder, and a silhouette where the next one will be.

Built by hand, twice

Every rock and rocket is voxel art from the 2016 original. The 2026 build is a ground-up rebuild in Unity 6 — same feel, measured back off the old footage frame by frame.

Recovered,
then rebuilt

Rapid Rocket shipped once, in February 2016, and then the source went quiet for a decade. The 2026 version started from what survived: a release archive, seven scenes, fourteen prefabs, and four screen recordings. Everything the old game did was measured out of those frames before a line of the new one was written.

  • 2026 · recoveryThe archive is opened and the spec reverse-engineered from the shipped build and 54 sampled frames of footage — scoring rate, turn rate, prices, panel colours.
  • 2026 · rebuildA new project on Unity 6 and URP: flight, hangar, scoreboard, pause and death screens, all re-authored against the measured original.
